Philosophy of Teaching and Learning

Children are our future...

I believe that each and every child has the potential to bring something unique and very special to this world. I will help children in developing their potential by believing in them as capable and knowledgable individuals. I will assist every children in discovering who they are and what they love, so they can express their own opinions and nurture their own ideas independently. I have a vision of a wonderful world where people young and old learn to respect, accept, and embrace the differences between us.
Teach them well and they will lead the way...
Every classroom presents a different community of learners that varies not only in abilities, and personalities, but also in learning styles. My role as a teacher is to give children the tools (including technology) with which to grow their own gardens of knowledge and success. To accomplish this goal, I will teach to the needs of each and every child so that all learners can feel comfortable, capable, and successful. I will present the curriculum that involves the interests of the children and relate learning to real life. I will incorporate themes, integrated units, projects, technology, group work, individual work, and hands-on learning in order to make children active learners. Finally, I will tie learning into technolgy to help children become better learners and have diverse knowledge of the subject matter.
Show them all the beauty they possess inside. Give them a sense of pride...
My classroom will be a caring and safe environment where each child can blossom and grow into their own individual. I will allow children to become responsible members of our classroom community and society by using strategies such as class meetings and positive discipline. I will showing my students how to become responsible for themselves as well as their own learning. I will give them the tools to become successful in life, to believe in themselves, to love themselves, and most of all to love learning.
Let the children's laughter remind us of how we used to be...
Teaching is a lifelong learning process of learning and exploring about new philosophies and new strategies to help myself and my students succeed. I will teach my students and my self to learn from our parents and community, from colleagues, and especially learning from other children. Children have taught me to open my mind and my heart to the joys, the innocence, the love, and the diversity of the ideas and people in the world. Because of this, I will never forget how to smile with the new, cherish the old, and laugh with the children.
